Amber — Shelter
I rescued Amber from the shelter 1 1/2 ago. When she came to me, it was obvious she had been abused. She suffered from both physical and mental scars – with fears of baseball bats, plastic bags, and anything unfamiliar. But she had so much love to give. Despite her insecurity, she has never so much as growled at a person, but rather, she has given nothing but love. We got another dog and he passed away unexpectedly just a few months later. They were the best of friends and it changed her (and me) forever. However, she never stopped loving. We became closer through the hardship. She protects me from anything she may deem dangerous. If I’m upset, she refuses to leave my side. She greets me when I get home from work each day with a hug and a kiss. Amber is the best dog I could ever ask for. She has changed my life in so many ways and I am forever grateful this beautiful dog chose me to take her home.
