Bella — Emerging Hero
Bella is my everyday hero. I rescued her as a puppy over 8 years ago when I was a practicing veterinarian. She exhibited from the very beginning an acute sense of how I was doing, health wise. In 2015, I became disabled from a old back fracture which caused me to be often wheelchair bound. I live alone and was determined to move independently.. When I fell, she would back up to me and allow me to hold on to her harness and help to pull me up. She had no training for this. When I stood, she would stand between my legs to allow me to lean on her. As the years moved on, I also became ill from heart disease and other problems. In times of self pity, she gets on my bed (she is not allowed-LOL) and lies on me to protect me and to soothe me. I quite often get dizzy when I get up and she pushes me back to the bed. There is so much more to say but it is unnecessary for me to do so because there are not enough words. I love her, she is my heart and my everyday hero. I am blessed to have her in my life.
