|In 2002 I suffered from an accident in the war. I suffer from PTSD, TBI and seizures. In 2004 Duke came into my life and changed it forever. He is one of the oldest active service dogs for a disabled veteran. In his 13 years of service, he has traveled the world to educate people about service animals and people with disabilities. Duke has been in magazines, newspapers, the local news, and there are two books written about him and how he saved his owner’s life, from Grand Mal seizures, to PTSD. Not only was Duke trained as a service dog but in 2007 he was trained as a life guard for swimming pools. In Duke’s 13 years of service he has helped Veterans and their families, along with doing charity work to help raise funds for veterans.
