Hazel — Shelter

Location: Houston, Texas

Hazel’s Hero Moments:
At the time I found her, we had two other senior dogs Walker, a greyhound and Cooper, a Golden Retriever (both rescues). Walker was chewing on a rawhide and somehow it lodged and locked his jaw open. I was sitting in another room and Hazel kept running back and forth from me to him until I realised something was wrong. She did a similar thing another time when Cooper got his dew claw hooked into the on the tags on his collar in the middle of the night as we slept. She woke me up!

In September 2018, we found out she had bone cancer and her front leg was amputated. In true Hazel fashion, she never missed a beat! Three weeks post-op she was swimming again. Our hikes are shorter and we walk with a big doggie stroller now, but we are still going strong and cancer free!!
WATER – colder the better. The photo was taken at the dog park after a dip in the pond.
SNOW – fluffier the better
BYE-BYES in her truck
Shopping in the pantry for TREATS!
Her zest for life is CONTAGIOUS!
Please consider HAZEL. From a stray on the streets to cancer surviving TRIPAWD. Hazel is a true inspiration to everyone she meets.
