|Jellybeans spent 8 1/2 years of her life in a puppy mill. She spent those years in a small cage producing puppy litter after litter. Those litters were sold at pet stores to unsuspecting customers. When Jelly’s mom adopted her she had no idea what a puppy mill us. She learned a lot through this little dog and joined the protest group. That protest group protested at the largest pet store in Denver for more than a year. They were able to convince the owner to begin looking at the Rescue model and the protest group became a nonprofit rescue to help the store make the transition. Jellybean was the inspiration for all of us and today continues to be the inspiration for the rescue that helps not only the pet store but other dogs in shelters. She has her own Facebook page where she educates about puppy mills and constantly spreads the word.
