Peanut Butter — Service
Whenever I have an episode Peanut will recognize it right away and she will get in my face and lick me or hug me to help me thru the episode. Peanut is so sensitive to how people are feeling. If Peanut sees someone that she senses needs love, she will go out of her way to get their attention. Including ask me if she can go say “hi”. (She does ask).
Peanut is really more than a Service Dog for me, she is there for everyone in Dispatch, the Fire Department and Sheriff’s Department. She is there to give a hug to anyone that stops by and needs it.
There was an incident where a young girl was killed in a accident, and we visited the school that she attended. Peanut was able to visit with the kids and help them with their mourning. It was one of the most beautiful things I had the pleasure of being apart of. Watching her bring smiles to kids that were hurting.
Peanut is amazing and I couldn’t do my job without her. The most beautiful part of what she does is, change people’s minds. I can’t count the number of people that said they were terrified of Pitbulls, but once they met Peanut, they fell in love. One person even wanted to take her home.
