Roman Brian Miller — Service
I was homeless for 2 years and 3 months. I thought about committing suicide, I was a lost soul. I received help from the VA with getting an apartment but I was still dealing with issues that confined me to my apartment. I could not go to places that were crowded. My caseworker and psychologist urged me to get a service dog. At the time the waiting period for a service dog was 3 to 4 years. My caseworker found a local agency that trained service dogs with the Veteran. I received Roman when he was 7 months old and we bonded right away. I knew he was special from day one. Him and I went through the training with no hitch. He brought me out of my shell. He was certified in 2017 and he’s been a blessing ever since. He’s brought me to a point in my life where I want to help other veterans like myself train their service dog. Roman is a big part of my new journey in life. Thank you for letting me tell our story.
