Roxy — Shelter
Hello, my dog’s name is Roxy. Roxy is a blue tick red tick coonhound mix. She was born October 22, 2012 in North Carolina as part of an unwanted litter of puppies. She was brought to her first shelter on November 22, 2012 at exactly a month old. While at the shelter in North Carolina she got the name Bobbie Sue. She was in a foster home until she was old enough to be transported to New England. In January of 2013, she was transported up to Conway, New Hampshire when she was 3 months old. During this time, she was in a foster home or the shelter. The shelter she was part of was the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire. In February of 2014, she was sent down to Bedford, New Hampshire. She was not at the shelter their too long of a time before my parents, brother, and I adopted her. We adopted her on February 15, 2014. When we first adopted her she was petrified of brick buildings. About two or three weeks after we adopted her. She was chasing our all black cat Dash around the house. She chased Dash underneath the couch and Dash lashed out with her foot and got Roxy in her left eye with a claw. Once my dad got home he and I brought Roxy to an emergency clinic to get her eye checked out. She needed to be seen by an ophthalmologist. We brought her down to Mass to an animal hospital. They were talking about surgery to close up her cornea but the cornea sealed on its own so she did not need surgery. The picture I chose is of her in a shirt before the Memorial Day parade last May.
