Windy — Therapy
Windy is a spry and feisty English Setter through and through. My husband and I rescued her 8 years ago, or I should say she rescued us! She was my husband’s constant companion until his death in Oct. 2014 from the horrible and debilitating illness Lewey Body Dementia. It was at that time I realized just how special Windy was, not only for my husband, but her demeanor was always so gentle and compassionate to anyone she would come in contact during the course of the day. She became my shadow after my husband’s passing and I could not ask for a more true and loving friend. We both are now trained and certified for pet therapy visits and volunteer in local hospitals , schools, colleges and community events, on our own and with the non-profit Attitudes In Reverse Organization. Our visits are definitely a win-win situation for all. Windy has shared her gentle demeanor on numerous pet therapy visits bringing smiles and happiness to many and has certainly been wonderful therapy for me in the process.
