Wingnut — Service
Wingnut started his service dog career at a very young age. At 6 months my family and I moved from Indianapolis In to So Oregon, by vehicle. The first night at the motel he woke me at 2am. I knew immediately my sugars were low. I contacted my kids and drank some juice. When they arrived we checked my sugar level. At that time it was 23. Had he not woken me the (adult) kids would have found me dead come morning.
His training continued and now he will go get my testing kit and just bring it to me when he feels I need to check. I don’t get symptoms when it crashes. Drs can’t even tell. Wingnut has literally saved my life at least 200 times in his 8 years with me.
He also helps me physically by carrying things for me (one wrist is fused, the other has a ruptured sagital band). He will pick things up off the floor for me, my back has 2 rods, 6 screws and 2 replacement disks. He makes it possible and easier to live a more normal life. My family and I can all sleep better knowing Wingnut WILL (and has) gotten me up during the night if my sugars crash. I can enjoy a weekend home alone without worry.
Not only is he my best friend, he’s my savior! He’s MY hero!
