Beauty — Shelter
I got Beauty in 2008 from New York Animal Care & control, She was a 4 year old pit bull weighing only 30lbs. She was very underweight and in need of medical care definitely not a beauty back then. I first saw her picture on Facebook, There was something in those sweet eyes that got to me. Even though I had 4 other dogs at the time I knew she was meant to be a part of our family. With the help of a rescue ” Bruised Not Broken” she came from New York to Pittsburgh, Pa. That is where our journey begins. We got all her medical issues, which were numerous taken care of and that is when the real Beauty came out. From day one she loved everyone she met. She has been all over the city of Pittsburgh educating people about pit bulls. She is definitely a parade junky and has been in several Holiday and Saint Patrick’s day parades in the city. She loves to dress up making her a favorite among the crowd. She has been in our local paper and Life and Dog magazine for her good works. She was the mascot for our team for The Race for the Cure helping us to raise over $2,000 for breast cancer. Who wouldn’t donate to a pitty dressed in pink? She has had many adventures around our city and changed many minds about her breed. From where she came to where she is today is nothing short of amazing.
