Buddy Shirley — Service

Location: Guin, Alabama

Bud has saved my life on more than one occasion. There is one that sticks out and is probably one of the best examples. My husband, myself, and Bud went to a Chattanooga Lookouts baseball game on July 4th, 2018. I had just been put on a new medication that I had never had before and was not aware of what the medications would do. It happened to be the hottest day of the year and we were in the sun. The heat was working against my medication and making me very dizzy. My husband told me to go cool off in the bathroom. As I was walking towards the bathroom I did not make it to the stairs and blacked out. Bud saw me as I was going down and jumped the bleachers to get to me. Once he reached me, he started to do chest compression on me and laying on my chest to get me to come to and to grab his harness. A local nurse was screaming for my husband to get Bud away from me without knowing he was my dog. Bud never stopped what he was doing to make sure I was alright.
