Charlie — Therapy
For the first six years of his life Charlie lived with a hoarder, who fortunately decided to put him up for adoption. Charlie adapted to the life of a regular dog quickly, and just as quickly we realized that his calm demeanor and sweetness would make him a perfect therapy dog. For the last three years he has been volunteering at our community hospital, participating in local events, and (his favorite!) paying weekly visits to a 89 year old housebound widow, brightening her life just by being Charlie.
What started out as a sad, neglected life has ended up being a blessing – for Charlie, for us, and for the people he makes smile “just by being Charlie.”
