Cookie — Shelter
Cookie is a rescue dog from Lake Humane Society. We feel she honestly rescued us in a time of need. Covid quarantine had taken a toll on my daughter. She lost all of her activities and wasn’t able to see most of her friends and family. I had surgery in May and that frightened her. She had two surgeries, one in August and one coming up in December. We rescued Cookie in November and she eased so many worries for my daughter. She comforted her, accompanied her to appointments, which was a great distraction for my daughter. She gave my daughter a sense of responsibility of taking care of her dog. Cookie came at a time we needed her most. She has fit in well with our family and we love her so much. She is now my daughter’s emotional support animal and is allowed to accompany her to her doctor’s appointments. My daughter has had 12 surgeries and Cookie is now here with her for anything else her future holds.
