Jeffrey — Shelter

Location: Milford, Connecticut

Jeffrey is a shining example of the hidden gems waiting in shelters all across America.

Adopted from Manhattan ACC death row in 2010, Jeffrey has certainly made the best of his second chance!

Known as Jeffrey, The Positively Peaceful Pit Bull on social media, he has been described as “truly magical” and has been called the “connector of souls”. He spreads the message of inclusion, kindness and equality, while touching everyone with his sweet demeanor and gentle spirit.

Since 2012, Jeffrey has been a complex rated Pet Partners therapy dog , providing comfort to grieving children and hospice patients, as well as humane education to scouting groups, and school children.

He and his mom believe in advocating by example, so not only is Jeffrey an active therapy dog, he competes in the mainstream dog sport of Rally Obedience.

Force free trained, he holds 7 National rankings, earned over 47 titles and in 2019 he became the first pit bull in history to earn the highest achievement in their sport, the Rally Master Champion title.

Since 2013, each December, they hold their annual Jeffrey’s Joy of Giving Donation Drive which has collected thousands of pounds of non-perishable food items and toiletries for local homeless shelters, over 2 tons of pet food for local animal shelters and pet food pantries and nearly $6,000 in monetary donations for various 501c3 charities.

We believe there is a hero inside every dog and Jeffrey is here to show the world what shelter dogs can do!
