Leo — Shelter
Leo was left on the side of the road as a 3 month old puppy and then picked up by a Good Samaritan. He was brought to the Kanawha Charleston Humane Association in Charleston WV where I adopted him shortly afterward. He has grown up into an outgoing, loving and beautiful dog. He now supports the shelter which he came from by being a living donor for their current sick and injured animals. Weekly he donates blood and stool to give to others who need it for their medical conditions. To date, he has saved over 50 animals and continues to save more each day. Without Leo’s help, these animals may have not lived to see another day or be adopted by their forever families. Although donating blood sounds scary, Leo sits like a good boy for the whole procedure and waits patiently for his treats afterward. He is a life saving dog, not just to his family who loves him very much, but also to countless animals that he helps to heal.
