Mona Pants — Shelter
I adopted Mona from Wake Co Animal Shelter 9 years ago. Mona was a beam light..always happy, always loving…always shining. Everyone that met her fell in love and she soon became the subject of all my social media. I made a video with the Talking Pet app one day and shared it with my friends. Mona talked about her feelings and life and pooping…and soon, my friends demanded that she have her own FB page. I was a reluctant, but thought…just for my friends…why not? We had 10 followers the first day…then 30, then 100…then 1000 and soon I realized that Mona resonated with alot of people. Her happiness is contagious and she inspires people. I was involved in dog rescue for 12 yrs and was raising money for a paralyzed dog that needed a wheelchair…so, I enlisted Mona on her page to help and we raised all the money and then some. Mona has helped raise money for dogs across the country, and helped fund the cost of wheelchairs, dog beds for shelters in Puerto Rico, surgeries for animals in need, and countless spays and neuters. Recently, we have even helped purchase K9 protective vests for K9 officers and are now raising funds to provide fire depts with O2 kits for pets. Mona inspires people to give back to animals in need – even $1 can make a difference!
