Wilson — Emerging Hero
I adopted Wilson 4 years ago from Eskie Rescue. The night he came to me, I wasn’t able to touch him as he was so terrified of everything. His previous family gave him up after 8 years for a puppy. It’s very clear that he has been abused by a man.
I sat on the floor and held kibble in my hand. When he was hungry, he very pensively came to me. After a while I was able to reach out and gently pet him.
Fast forward 4 years. Wilson is MY baby. He is so happy to see me when I come home from work, he loves his walks, and has LOTS of toys. I won’t ever say that he is spoiled, but rather “very loved” and he knows it. He is my watch dog and best friend. Don’t ever shy away from a rescue dog. They know they are getting a second chance and pay it back ten-fold. Wilson is my hero. Everyday, I remember what he has been through, and it helps me to continually move forward with my life.
